About the role The Manager – Emergency Workforce is responsible for overseeing the development, training, and engagement of a nationwide workforce capable of rapidly responding to multiple disasters simultaneously.
In this role you will lead a team who are responsible for the development and delivery of training programs, workforce engagement activities, and records management.
Day to Day you will Lead a team of geographically based team members, responsible for training development, delivery, workforce engagement, and records management.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to ensure high performance, consistency and efficiency.
Oversee the establishment, improvement and maintenance of a comprehensive training systems and programs for emergency response volunteers across the country.
Foster a culture of readiness and commitment among the workforce through regular exercises, workshops, and engagement activities.
Develop and implement engagement strategies to maintain high levels of motivation and preparedness among the emergency response workforce.
Analyse assessment results and implement necessary improvements and corrective actions.
What you will bring Substantial experience in leadership roles within emergency services, disaster response, or volunteer management, with a focus on workforce development and readiness.
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and motivate teams in fast-paced, high-stress environments, with a commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Extensive experience in integrating and optimising systems for onboarding, training, and compliance, ensuring seamless processes that enhance workforce efficiency and adherence to organisational standards.
Proven ability to operate under limited direction from senior employees and lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of professionals.
Substantial knowledge and skills in assessing training needs and workforce readiness, and in developing effective training solutions.
Strong capability to work with various stakeholders and build collaborative and innovative culture.
Proven success in adapting and adjusting plans and engagement strategies to meet evolving needs and emerging challenges.
