Health, Safety & Environment (Mining, Resources & Energy)
Roster: Perth Based with regular travel to sites
Reporting to the Integrated Operations Health and Safety Manager at Fortescue, you will support the Fortescue Integrated Operations teams in the implementation and assurance of Health & Safety Management Systems, driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced mining environment.
In this role, you will lead and guide day-to-day safety, assurance, and risk management activities, while also coaching senior leaders and line management on Health, Safety, Assurance, Risk, and Contractor excellence.
Additionally, you will foster strong relationships with the site team to ensure a collaborative and effective safety culture.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and engage with site teams in Contractor and Risk Management activities.Develop and oversee a Contractor Management assurance process at level one.Support the implementation and ongoing management of Risk processes.Work with line management to ensure compliance with all safety requirements and statutory regulations.Contribute to the identification and control of hazards where applicable.Leverage systems and analyse data to drive informed decision-making, leading to project improvements and business transformations.Collaborate with line management, consultants, and relevant government bodies.Assist in the creation of the HSES Strategic Plan and track progress against annual improvement and implementation goals.Qualifications and ExperiencePrevious experience working in the Health and Safety industry.Proven track record in a Safety Lead or Safety Superintendent role.Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health, Safety, Hygiene, or related post-graduate qualifications.Prior experience in Risk Management, Contractor Management, Assurance, and the Mining or Construction sectors is highly desirable.Safety Auditing qualification (Lead Auditor) with a strong understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act & Regulations.Experience in developing management systems and implementing Risk Management frameworks.Proven ability to interact with and report to regulatory bodies.About UsBe part of something big.
