State Lead Victoria - Temporary - (Specialising in Human Resources)An inner metro council is seeking an experienced Senior OHS Advisor for an initial 3-month contract.
This role offers an opportunity to lead crucial OHS projects and initiatives, ensuring the well-being of council employees and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities: Advisory Support: Provide evidence-based guidance to managers and staff on OHS matters to foster a safe workplace culture.Risk Management: Develop and implement tailored strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards and risks.Policy & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Council's OHS Management System, policies, and legislative requirements through audits and reviews.Training & Development: Design and deliver engaging OHS training programs to staff and stakeholders.Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of workplace incidents, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.Data Analysis: Analyse OHS data to identify trends and develop proactive solutions.Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external partners, including WorkSafe Victoria, unions, and professional bodies.Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the development and maintenance of OHS policies, procedures, and systems, promoting best practices. Key Requirements: Tertiary qualification in OHS or related field (minimum Diploma level).Significant experience as an OHS professional or in a similar specialist role.Comprehensive understanding of OHS legislation, regulations, and best practices.Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.Desirable: Lead Auditor qualification, Cert IV in Workplace Training & Assessment, or experience in injury/WorkCover claims management.For a confidential discussion regarding this opportunity or other positions within Local Government, please contact Sarah Kettlewell on (03) 8535 3111.
