EnergyTec is seeking a qualified Senior Electrician with an A Grade electrical license to join our Technical Services Team.
You will become an integral part of our skilled team of technicians, engineers, and utility consultants.
Our Technical Services Division provides advanced sub-metering, AMR communications, and renewable energy integration solutions to the Embedded Meter Networks on some of the most well-known properties in Western Australia, such as commercial airports, ports, marinas, CBD commercial buildings, and retail centres.
Key Functions Work closely as a subject matter expert with our core utility data acquisition and utility accounting teams, who generate much of our city's energy accounting reports, and provide innovative solutions to charging and tracking energy usage trends within buildings and precincts.Be integral to the transformation of Manual to AMR (Automated Meter Reading) meter networks, including the integration of DER (Distributed Energy Resources) such as Solar, EV Charging, and BESS.Program and commission the major NMI Patten approved meter brands.
Commission and validate the meter networks using state-of-the-art meter validation technology and web-based commissioning tools for meter network communications setup and troubleshooting.
You will also deploy our performance-based meter products and services, delivering live web-based power quality data for key loads.Conduct Meter Network Audits and other feasibility investigations, which fundamentally involve documenting utility network topology and other infrastructure assets.A snapshot of your role As a qualified electrician with an A Grade license and at least 5 years of experience, you will utilise your technical knowledge as part of a team delivering solutions from meter validations and commissioning to renewable solutions feasibility reporting.
Your day-to-day may include:
Carry out complex metering activities including site assessments, audits, and inspections of metering installations.Assist in the continuous improvement process for our metering service field training, communications technologies installations, and associated works.Complete meter testing within the guidelines developed and in line with the Australian Standards.Ensure all works are completed within all legislative, code, and safety requirements.Provide senior technical support of metering systems and hardware.Perform meter programming and diagnostic testing.Perform meter validations utilising in-house technical assets.Undertake communications network programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting.Typical project involvement:Advanced Meter Networks: Set up & commissioning for Greenfield projects.Advanced Meter Network: Upgrades & commissioning for Brownfield projects.Embedded Network Conversions (ENC) & EV Charging upgrades; andDER meter network integration.Typical feasibility investigations:Meter Network Audits, ENC, Solar, and EV Charging feasibilities.Site investigations and data capture to produce reports integrated with data from our utility billing platforms.Qualifications and requirements A Grade electrical worker's licenceElectrical Contractor's licencePolice ClearanceWhite Construction CardA can-do attitude with strong written and verbal communicationsEssential to be successful in this role 5+ years post-trade experience to include development, design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of a wide range of metering systems and supporting infrastructure.Experience with advanced metering infrastructure.Good interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.Must work well in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.Thorough understanding of electrical utility operations.General understanding of the commercial and strata property sector management hierarchy.Thorough understanding of engineering processes and practices.Thorough understanding of electrical schematic diagrams and drawings.Thorough understanding of metering systems, services, and infrastructure.Who is EnergyTec For over 30 years, EnergyTec has been the industry leader in end-to-end utility data acquisition, accounting (billing, reconciliation, emissions), and automated sub-metering solutions.
