Job Description:
The college is currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated Head School Librarian to join our team.
The successful candidate will commence in 2025 and will be expected to participate in the life of the school through its extensive co-curricular programs and demonstrate a commitment to the service of others.
Your working hours will be 8:20am to 5:00pm - Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves assisting students and staff in the coordination and organisation of the College library.
You will lead the library team, including implementing College-wide goals and working alongside the Directors of Teaching & Learning.
Ability to manage the daily work in an intelligent manner, allowing for unscheduled interruptions Management of our Library Information System Coordinating class set texts collections Resource management & promotion General library maintenance Experience in the: delivery of information and circulation services Processing of library materials Handling student and staff accounts and library inquiries Promoting library programs, events and activities Experience in the delivery of quality customer service A passion for student learning Excellent organisational and behavioural management skills Excellent communication skills and confidence when dealing with difficult situations Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Library & Information Systems Detailed knowledge of copyright legislation and its application in schools Experience in an educational environment 1 to 2 years experience in a similar role Experience with Windows software, especially Outlook, Word and Excel VIT registration is desirable, but not necessary How to Apply:
