Senior Electrical Designer

Position: Electrical/Electronic Engineering (Engineering)Type: Full timeResponsibilities:Independently creating concept designs based on technical knowledge.Collaborating with engineers to develop efficient and effective electrical drawings as required, which remain compliant with client specifications, codes, and regulations. Drawings may include panel layouts, electrical schematics, single lines, cable schedules, and parts lists.Maintain a high standard of design drafting using quality checks and procedures.Identify and take action to mitigate risk in electrical design.Perform redline mark ups and redraws as provided via client.Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Australian design standards in accordance with A1102 and various client CAD standards.Ability to interpret technical documents such as data sheets and manuals.Continuously build knowledge and keep up to date on the technical and procedural aspects of the role.Adhere to standards and templates.Mentor and support fellow Drafters and colleagues within the business.ELECTRICAL PROJECTS:Support on-site installation and commissioning activities as required for projects.Review designs in accordance with Australian Standards, including AS3000.Write scopes of work and work methodology statements to enable scoping and execution.BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:Be a champion of the Waterline Purpose, Values, and Brand.Attend client meetings and take briefs to develop project scopes that meet client needs.As required, conduct site visits to maintain relationships and contact with existing Clients by delivering excellent service.Meet with clients to determine project scope requirements and track project progress to realize true project benefits.Provide feedback to Team Leads on process and procedure improvements.ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:10+ years of experience in Electrical Design on Mining / Industrial projects.Exposure to Australian Industry (including Mining, Energy, Chemicals, Oil & Gas).Strong knowledge of or experience with Microstation, AutoCAD, and managing both Australian and Client Standards and specifications.Exposure to onsite full project life cycle from concept design through to construction.Multi-disciplinary project collaboration (Mechanical, Civil / Structural, Electrical, Process).Experience in a leadership or management position including coaching, motivating, and supporting others.Demonstrated project engineering or project management skills including strong self-discipline and time management skills.Flexible attitude to rapidly changing project requirements.Ability to deliver results under pressure.Willingness to learn about our clients' businesses and markets.Pragmatic approach to client problems.Demonstrate effective organization, planning, and attention to detail.Excellent report writing and presentation skills.Effective problem-solving capabilities.Ability to interpret standards, legislation, acts, and codes.Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.Appropriate handling of confidential information.Able to independently make effective decisions, monitor progress, and provide open feedback to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.
