Health Information Manager/Clinical Coder

YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE As a member of the Health Information Management led Coding Services team, you will primarily be responsible for the accurate and timely coding of patient records utilising ICD-10-AM, the Department of Health Admission Criteria requirements and the Australian Coding Standards (ACS).
You will also be offered opportunities to utilise your HIM / Coding knowledge and skills in conducting coding audits, coding education and clinical documentation activities.
The role is a permanent, full-time position, working with a friendly and professional team of Health Information Managers, who enjoy working together and learning from each other.
Your hours will be 80 hours per fortnight with an ADO every month.

Hiring Manager: Kathryn Baxter Contact Number: 8559 7387 Email: ****** Applications Close: 11:59pm, Thursday 28th November 2024 ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Position Summary • Responsible for timely and accurate ICD-10-AM coding of inpatient episodes • Attendance at coding and casemix related meetings • Involvement in coded data quality and audit activities • Other HIM related activities supporting the management of Health information Services Enterprise Agreement Allied Health Professionals Classification or Salary Range Health Information Manager Grade 1 or 2 (depending on experience) Immunisation Risk Category Immunisation Category C Key Relationships Internal • Senior Health Information Manager (Coding) • Other Health Information Managers • Health Information Services staff • Administrative staff within the organisation • Clinical & Research staff External • Department of Health and Human Services • Victorian Cancer Registry • Other HIM/Coders within the Parkville Precinct Education Skills Essential Requirements • Tertiary qualification in Health Information Management, or, successful completion of an accredited clinical coding course • Significant experience coding with ICD-10-AM 11th Edition • Knowledge and proficiency in use of 3M Codefinder software • Excellent computer skills including experience using MS Office suite • Excellent communication skills • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet internal and external timelines / targets • High attention to detail • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously Desirable Requirements • Experience in analysing an electronic medical record (EMR) for coding purposes • Previous experience using a patient administration system Certifications, Licenses & Registrations Key Accountabilities Key Accountabilities Demonstrated by / Key Performance Indicators 1.
