We're on the lookout for dedicated people to join our care team in a Casual vacancy in our Child and Family Services.
Our care team members provide tailored therapeutic interventions aimed at addressing the unique needs of each child or young person to help them overcome trauma and build resilience on their journey to adulthood in Out of Home Care.
The Role: As a valued member of our care team, you'll play a crucial role in assisting children and young people to fulfill their potential through day-to-day provision of care, nurturing, and safety in our Out of Home Care Programme.
Your responsibilities will include:
Meeting the daily care needs of children or young people, such as personal hygiene, health and well-being, medical, transportation, recreational, and educational support.Contributing to and maintaining a quality care environment that is safe, clean, and personalized.Documenting accurately events and developments related to the day-to-day provision of care.Ensuring children and young people's NDIS plans are accessible while in our care.Utilizing trauma-informed practices in day-to-day care provision.Providing positive behavior support and therapeutic interventions during escalation and crisis events.Encouraging and facilitating opportunities for social engagement and community involvement.Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement individualized support plans.Advocating for the rights and needs of children and young people.Supporting young people in developing essential life skills, including education, vocational training, and independent living skills.Promoting positive relationships and connections for children and young people with family, culture, and community.Helping children and young people reach developmental and life milestones.About You: We are looking for care team members who have a demonstrated passion for helping children and young people heal and grow.
You should have experience in supporting individuals with disabilities and complex support needs, helping them lead fulfilling lives and promoting their independence.
You will understand the importance of trauma-informed care, consistency, and stability in the lives of children and young people, and be committed to meticulous documentation and reporting with a deep commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
Availability for a rotating roster that includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and overnights is required.
Essential qualifications include a current paid working with children check, national police check, valid driver's license, and a suitable minimum qualification, lived experience, or eligibility for a traineeship.
