We aim to empower the next generation by nurturing strong family and community ties while collaborating with other organisations to enhance community wellbeing.For more information, please visit www.gurindjicorp.com.au.About the OpportunityGurindji Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC is seeking a full-time Centre Manager based in Kalkaringi, NT, to lead the Ngaliwany Purrp'ku Child and Family Centre, serving both Kalkaringi and Daguragu communities.
This role is the heart and soul of the Centre, offering vital support to families through culturally connected services.As the Centre Manager, you will report directly to the CEO and work closely with a small, dedicated team to help community members access essential services such as mental health support, housing assistance, parenting programs, and advocacy for young families.
The role is central to preserving cultural traditions while ensuring younger generations receive the skills and support they need to make positive life choices.
You will lead a team of Key Workers to connect families with services, foster partnerships with local organisations, and keep the strong cultural heritage of the community alive.Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Supervising and mentoring Key Workers and administrative staffDeveloping and managing culturally safe programs and services, including parenting support, cooking programs, and advocacy for young familiesBuilding relationships with local service providers and community organisations to ensure families receive timely access to mental health, housing, and other essential servicesOverseeing the Centre's day-to-day operations, including WHS and accreditation processesManaging budgets, reporting requirements, and internal communicationDriving continuous improvement initiatives and team developmentEnsuring accurate data management and reporting systems are in placeAbout YouWe are looking for someone with a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, along with at least one year of experience working closely with communities.
Ideally, you have lived and worked in a community setting and are deeply committed to helping families access essential services while preserving and promoting cultural traditions.While leadership experience is desirable, it is not mandatory.
Strong organisational skills and good interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.

Practical experience in similar roles, especially in community settings, is highly valued.Other highly valued skills and experience include:Experience engaging with service providers and community organisations to connect families with services such as mental health support and housing assistanceStrong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal abilitiesFamiliarity with the challenges facing remote communities and a passion for addressing those challenges in culturally appropriate waysBuilding and maintaining strong communication and relationship with the Children and Families Program of the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (Northern Territory Government) as they are the funding body of the Ngaliwany Purrpku Child and Family CentreEnsure that progress reports are submitted within the due dates as per Grant ContractExperience in grant writing is desirable for preparing and submitting applications to secure funding for community programs.This role will involve travel for professional development and community engagement.
We are looking for someone who is not only confident in managing the demands of travel but also approaches challenges with cultural sensitivity, humility, and adaptability.
The ideal candidate will be independent, collaborative, open to continuous learning and prioritise training and development for key workers.
