Summary:
Slice Group, a rapidly growing fintech firm, is seeking a visionary Head of Risk (Quantitative Focus) to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive risk management strategy that ensures financial stability while supporting the company's ambitious growth.
This executive-level role reporting directly to the Co-Founder will oversee all facets of quantitative and value-based risk management across credit, liquidity, market, and operational risks.
The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team, collaborate closely with senior leadership, and drive risk-based decision-making at the organisational level.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Strategic Oversight
Define and lead the company's overarching risk management strategy, aligning with organisational objectives and growth targets.
Collaborate with the executive team to embed a risk-first mindset across the business, ensuring informed decision-making at all levels.
Build and lead a best-in-class risk management team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Serve as a key advisor to the board and executive leadership on financial risk trends, mitigation strategies, and industry best practices.
Risk Framework Development and Execution
Design and implement a robust, value-based risk management framework addressing credit, liquidity, market, and operational risks.
Ensure frameworks comply with regulatory standards and adapt to evolving industry practices and regulations.
Establish policies and practices to ensure consistency and scalability of risk management across the organisation.
Quantitative Risk Management
Oversee the development and validation of advanced quantitative models, including Monte Carlo simulations, VaR, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
Ensure all models are reliable, accurate, and aligned with the company's business needs.
Leverage quantitative analysis and data-driven insights to guide strategic risk mitigation and enhance decision-making precision.
Credit, Liquidity, and Market Risk Oversight
Manage credit risk exposures, including counterparty risk, through effective controls and processes.
Lead liquidity risk management initiatives to ensure sufficient reserves and compliance.
Monitor market risk exposures, including interest rate changes and currency fluctuations, implementing proactive risk mitigation measures.
Operational and Enterprise Risk Management
Implement processes to address operational risks, including data accuracy, compliance, and financial controls.
Conduct scenario analyses and stress tests to assess the impact of market and operational changes on business stability.
Data-Driven Insights and Reporting
Present comprehensive risk reports to the board and executive leadership, offering actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
Stay ahead of industry trends and regulatory changes, proactively advising on adjustments to maintain sound risk practices.
Qualifications
Experience and Expertise
7+ years of experience in risk management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Demonstrated expertise in quantitative risk management within fintech, banking, or financial services.
Advanced knowledge of risk modeling and statistical methods, including Monte Carlo simulations, VaR, and predictive analytics.
Proven ability to design and implement enterprise-wide risk frameworks.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications such as CFA, FRM, or PRM are strongly preferred.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in programming languages and risk analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, MATLAB).
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to communicate complex insights clearly to diverse audiences.
