This role will focus on:Leading and coaching a team of 3 engineers focused on building the Canva public REST API capabilities.Being accountable for team delivery and ongoing delivery improvements.Partnering with Product to shape our roadmap, balancing product outcomes with pragmatic technical excellence.Contributing to the technical strategy by representing one of the two Canva Integrations at Scale teams in the larger Ecosystem group.Seeking opportunities to improve the experience of building integrations using our developer platform.Being a hands-on leader contributing directly to progressing goals with code.You're probably a match ifYou are a technical and people leader with experience leading high-performing teams.You are comfortable using Java (or another similar object-oriented programming language).You have a working knowledge of AWS.You understand the product life cycle, features, technical debt, QA, and supporting quality at speed.You know when to push back, shielding the team from disruptions and providing a safe environment that brings clarity.You are happy to work in our environment, which includes a Microservices Java backend and a React/Typescript frontend.You have a passion for coaching and developing a culture that enables teams to excel.You can work with a diverse range of individuals from different backgrounds.Your excellent written and verbal communication skills enable you to manage stakeholders effectively.You lead by example, promoting Canva's values, a no-blame mentality, and an inclusive culture.About the GroupThe Ecosystem group contributes to Canva's growth towards 1 billion users by creating an abundant app ecosystem that tailors to the diverse needs of our users.
We are introducing a public REST API for Canva to serve third-party developers and support integrations with enterprises and SaaS software.About the RoleThe Integration Capabilities team plays a vital role in the Ecosystem strategy by building API capabilities and integrations using backend REST APIs that meet Canva's engineering best practices.
