About the opportunity This is a dynamic and exciting time for NSW SES as the Agency moves into its next Strategic Planning cycle following a significant funding boost in the 2024-25 State budget. To support the agency in developing our next strategy and driving organisational performance, the NSW SES is looking for a collaborative and engaging leader for our Strategy and Performance team.
This fast paced, pivotal role provides an opportunity to directly contribute to the future of the NSW SES and in turn make a real difference to NSW communities. Reporting to the Director of Organisational Strategy, Planning and Performance, this is a senior position that supports organisational performance through the delivery of strategy, business planning, reporting and analytics. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team as well as internal and external stakeholders to provide strategic direction, organisational performance insights and analytics. You will manage integrated planning processes to support development and delivery of strategy, with consideration to scarce resources and complex internal and external environments. You will also be directly involved in the development and delivery of business cases to support delivery of strategic outcomes.

The NSW SES serves the community as the lead agency for Floods, Storms and Tsunamis. We are recognised as the most versatile and widely used emergency service organisation in NSW. Our volunteers are highly skilled, experienced, and well-trained in the wide variety of roles they perform.
With over 10,000 volunteers we are committed to protecting and supporting the diverse communities of NSW.
About you
You will be a motivated and experienced leader with significant experience in the development, delivery and monitoring of strategy and planning for a complex organisation.
To be successful in this role you will:
Be passionate about service delivery to the community and understand the complexities of delivering strategy in a volunteer-based, community-focused organisation.
Understand the bigger picture and be skilled at engaging and influencing across an organisation to align priorities and support delivery of strategic outcomes.
Be committed to collaboration and building organisational capability.
Have exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Have demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of organisational performance reporting and insights that drive the delivery of strategic outcomes.
