About the Role We are searching for a Safety Advisor to join our Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Team at our Cooljarloo mine site, located near Cataby, approximately 190km north of Perth's CBD.
This position is on a 9 day fortnight with every 2nd Friday off.
Live locally in the Shire of Dandaragan, or stay at our camp accommodation and drive home at the end of your working week.
As an expert in Health and Safety, you will play a key role in fostering a sustainable occupational safety culture.
Your ability to effectively engage with site management, leaders, and the broader workforce will be crucial in aligning actual work practices with planned safety protocols.
Your primary responsibilities will include: Participate in the development and lead the implementation of safety strategies aligned with the SHE business plan and relevant legal requirements.Implement risk assessment techniques and analyses, contributing to the identification, elimination, and control of workplace hazards.Contribute to the development of plant SHE programs including safety manuals/materials.Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of critical controls.Interpret and advise on complex/specialized SHE regulatory and business standards.Maintain system, process, and data to monitor and report on safety and health performance to meet internal and external needs in a timely and accurate manner.Partake in audits to ensure compliance with standards and contribute to the recommendation of actions.Lead and support investigations promoting reactive and proactive learning to build organizational resilience to adverse events.Conduct training and information sessions relating to a variety of SHE topics.Actively participate in, support, and contribute to the site SHEQ team.About You: 5 years' experience in a safety advisor role in a similar industry - strong preference for experience in mining industry - safety or operations.Certificate IV or higher in Work Health & Safety.Hands-on experience in incident investigation and reporting.Strong understanding of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) best practices.Sound knowledge of Risk Management philosophies and implementation.Good knowledge of Workers Compensation legislation and process is desirable.Excellent report writing skills.Valid Class 'C' driver's license required.About the Benefits: Competitive salary and 12.5% superannuation contributions.Flexible work arrangements, including a 38-hour average workweek with the option of a compressed 9-day fortnight.A high-performance, inclusive culture where people are valued as individuals.Support from a highly experienced HR team, dedicated to your growth and success.Opportunities for mobility across our sites, allowing you to gain diverse experiences and broaden your skill set.A platform to thrive, contribute meaningfully, and be part of our global success story.Next Steps
