Fortescue's Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku people.
Roster: 4D3R ex Perth, Karratha and Broome
Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for leading the Electrical & PCS engineering team, providing senior technical advice, and ensuring adherence to asset management principles.
This role involves supporting maintenance, shutdown and project teams, managing key performance indicators (KPI's) and fostering team development.

Key Responsibilities Lead a team of electrical engineers in the design, development, and testing of electrical systems.Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.Provide focused leadership on risk management and promoting a positive safety culture.Ensure direct and indirect support for projects and shutdown teams, including technical support, work scopes and the development of preventative/predictive maintenance orders.Follow the Reliability Roadmap and asset management principles, focusing on Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) development/review, sparing (BOM) and task lists.Provide leadership and mentorship across the engineering team, supporting personal development and offering senior technical advice.Manage and monitor key KPI's for the department, including metrics related to Eureka, DEP, reliability and decarbonisation efforts.Qualifications and Experience Minimum 1 year experience as Senior Electrical or Senior PCS Engineer.Minimum 4 years experience as Electrical and/or PCS Engineer.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering essential.Extensive experience in design, commissioning and maintenance of Electrical and Process Control systems including LV & HV reticulation systems, VSDs, PLC, SCADA or DCS systems.Experience in engineering, design and selection of electrical equipment, with emphasis on critical electrical components, and hazardous area classification methods and protection techniques.
Some experience with owner/operator is preferred.Demonstrated experience in managing technical projects and team performance.Strong knowledge of asset management principles and reliability metrics.Understanding of relevant legislation, industry standards and regulations ie: Mine Safety and Inspection, OHS etc.Demonstrated computer literacy in engineering software (e.g.
PowerFactory, ETAP and PSCAD or similar).Why Join Us:
