Listed 23/9/24EnergyPermanent / Full TimeMelbourneWith new contracts secured and continued growth in the high-voltage and renewable energy sectors, our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join their expanding construction delivery team.
This permanent role is site-based, with a 10-4 rotation, though the head office is located in Melbourne.
Below is an overview:The Electrical Construction Manager will be responsible for planning, leading, and managing on-site Construction activities, ensuring that all targets and deliverables are met.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in high-voltage electrical systems, substations, and switchyards within construction projects, as well as strong communication, planning, time management, record-keeping, and stakeholder management skills.Key Responsibilities:
Promote a culture of safety by clearly communicating and enforcing health and safety policies.Ensure contractors comply with scope, quality standards, and legal requirements.Effective management and mentoring of Site Managers and Site Supervisors delivering large scale projects involving multidisciplinary teams (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical).Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including designers, engineers, and subcontractors.Provide input into the financial management including specific cost control, variation management, accurate month end reporting, project forecasting and scheduling.Provide effective construction management, having overall accountability for the project site, resources and HSE.Manage site-based client representatives (incl Owners Engineers) to ensure all client requirements are met.Prepare scope for RFQ's to engage subcontractors in line with the project scope and specification.Manage site variations to the client and subcontractors.Requirements:
Proven experience in constructing high-voltage substations and switchyards (220kV+).Proven ability to apply construction management principles and delivery of large-scale projects (>$50m).Familiarity with technical standards, construction practices, and OH&S regulations.Experience supervising the construction of solar farms and battery energy storage systems (BESS) is highly desirable but not essential.Current certification and qualification in an Electrical Trade or Construction Management.What's on offer:
