The Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive IT Manager to join our client in the education sector.
This position offers the chance to lead a skilled team, drive key projects, manage vendors as contribute to strategy work.
You will need a strong background in Windows based IT infrastructure as well as a strong commercial mindset.
Note, this role is a 18 month fixed-term contract position.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the IT infrastructure team Deliver technical leadership and strategic direction to ensure a secure, scalable infrastructure aligned with the business's future growth plans Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Windows technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V and VMware Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, SLA monitoring, and vendor selection for hardware, software, and services Act as an escalation point to resolve complex infrastructure issues, minimizing disruptions to business operations Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new infrastructure solutions seamlessly across the organization Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for cost reduction, system efficiency, and process enhancement Candidate Experience
Experience in IT management roles / managing complex vendor relationships Experience delivering IT projects (infrastructure, security, ERP preferred but not essential) Strong expertise in Windows technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization (Hyper-V/VMware), Office 365, and cloud environments.
