Our software platform, hosted in Azure, is built using a robust stack, including Python (Django), React for the front end, and Microsoft SQL Server on the backend.

As part of our growth journey, we are looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead our platform's technical development and shape agriculture's future through technology.
The Role:
As Senior Software Engineer, you will oversee Laconik's technology development and implementation, driving innovation and scalability.
You will lead both the strategic and hands-on development of the Laconik Analytics Engine platform, which is built primarily in Python.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with the company's growth objectives, ensuring the continuous evolution of our platform.
Key Responsibilities: Technology Leadership: Lead the design, management, and execution of the company's technology development strategy.
Oversee the development of high-quality, scalable solutions built primarily in Python, using frameworks like Django for the backend.Solutions Architecture: Complete the architecture of the Laconik Analytics Engine, ensuring the optimisation of the four key components: Backend (Django, RAW SQL), Task Server (file uploads, John Deere synchronisation), Frontend (React), and the Database (Microsoft SQL Server on Azure).Platform Review & Future Development: Conduct technical reviews of the current platform, assessing opportunities for improvements in performance and scalability.
Guide future enhancements and new technologies that could improve platform efficiency.Python-Based Development: Lead the design and development process for new features and functionalities, ensuring high-quality coding standards.
Ensure the Python-based backend integrates seamlessly with the React frontend and cloud-based infrastructure.
This role will require hands-on coding to improve and create new features.Technology Roadmap: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology roadmap that aligns with Laconik's growth goals.
This roadmap should address immediate needs and support the platform's long-term scalability.Deployment & Infrastructure: Manage the deployment of the Laconik Analytics Engine through Azure and Microsoft SQL databases.Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate new technologies and methodologies, focusing on improving platform performance, user experience, and operational efficiency.
Leverage Python, large language models, and cloud-based tools to ensure optimal performance and scalability.What You'll Need to Succeed: Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in software development, particularly with Python and Django for backend development, React for frontend, and cloud-based SQL databases.
Familiarity with Azure (Compute Engine, App Engine, SQL databases) and database management with Microsoft SQL Server is essential.Leadership & Management: Proven experience leading development teams and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver on technology objectives.
Experience in solutions architecture and technology strategy is crucial.Innovative Problem Solver: A passion for staying ahead of industry trends and implementing innovative solutions to technical challenges.Agile & Flexible: A dynamic approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring quality and timely delivery.Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in technology leadership.Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the agriculture or agtech sectors is a plus, though not mandatory.What We Offer: A key role in shaping the future of a cutting-edge agtech software platform.Competitive remuneration package based on experience: $160K to $220K/year + Super.The opportunity to participate in Laconik's Employee Share Options Pool.A collaborative and innovative work environment with a chance to significantly impact global agriculture.How to Apply:
