Due to an expanding portfolio of awarded contracts, we have a newly created opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join our Estimating team, based in our Victoria office located in Glen Iris.
Reporting to the Senior Estimator, you will primarily be responsible for estimating tenders and quotes, and ensuring that these tenders are accurate, submitted on time and within the conditions of the tender.
RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates, including cost escalation analysisCompile accurate material quantity take-offs to develop bills of quantitiesSupport the preparation and development of construction methodologies, programs, and submission documentationDevelop estimates from first principles using site productivity ratesConstruction of tender programsIdentify the need for additional information or clarification through RFIs to ensure complete tender documentsReview designs and engineering specifications for cost effectivenessReview and validate subcontractor pricing across all service disciplinesDeliver detailed tenders with traceability and provide support for pre-contracts and deliveryCoordinate team activities and conduct tender cost estimate review meetingsLiaise with internal and external stakeholders and maintain positive relationshipsABOUT YOU Your ability to be adaptable and proactive will see that you succeed in this role.
You will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or similar equivalentExperience in engineering and resource industriesFirst principal experience with pricing internal labour to complete work scopesPrior experience in Defence sector, construction, process and non-process infrastructure, and water/wastewater treatment (preferred but not essential)Financial and commercial acumenInterpersonal skills, confident, professional and self-motivatedAttention to detail with the ability to multitask and meet deadlinesTHE BENEFITS We offer support to every individual to attain their best potential with ongoing opportunity to develop individual capability.
