It is one of the world's largest producing gold mines and is located on a geothermally active extinct volcanic crater. Production first commenced in 1997. The operation consists of an open pit mine producing refractory ore, which is treated using pressure oxidation before the gold is recovered by a conventional leach process.Job DescriptionPurpose:Reporting to the Senior Category Lead you will provide expertise in the strategic procurement, delivery and management of goods and services.Essential DutiesSupport and provide input and advice on issues relating to all aspects of category management and sourcing activitiesAssist with implementing strategic category management plansSupport cross functional category team procurement projectsAssist activities including the development of relevant approach-to-market strategies and documentationIdentify and action continuous improvement, improved efficiencies and purchasing behavioural changeProvide commercial support and advice to the business in managing suppliers and contractual issuesWorks as an active team member across sourcing activities, projects or other contract portfolio accountabilitiesComplete demand analysis, spend analysis and market dynamics.Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and to deliver required work outcomesBusiness partnering approach to value identification and creationTraining & ExperienceHere is what we would need to see from youExperience working in both Commercial and Procurement roles, ideally within the mining industryExperience in Contract Management, Sourcing, Vendor Management / Supplier Relationship ManagementSolid financial understanding of procurement impacts, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional and interdisciplinary teamsDemonstrated experience in reviewing and understanding contractual terms contained in Agreements, including the ability to interpret commercial and tactical implementation impactsExperience and knowledge of the SAP Procurement Suite and the full Procure to Pay (P2P) lifecycleSuccessful involvement in complex projects and ability to manage competing deadlines within tight timeframesExperience collaborating with senior stakeholders and influencing commercial decisions and contractual negotiationsTertiary qualifications in Commerce, Law, Supply Chain or equivalentExcellent attention to detail and time management skillsStrong active listening and interpersonal skillsAbility to complete a pre-employment medical assessmentMust be able to complete a National Police Check & Navex Risk Rate ScreeningWorking ConditionsOur Brisbane-based team enjoy flexible Monday to Friday work options to balance working from home and in the office.
