The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for 2 Design Engineers to join the Civil Design team at Transgrid.The Design Engineer (Civil) provides design, technical support advice, and reports in accordance with project objectives and stakeholder requirements.
The Design Engineer will complete works associated with High Voltage Substation Civil & Structural design.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Design Engineer - Civil, your main duties will be:TechnicalPerform civil & structural designs complying to relevant Australian/IEC standards and Transgrid technical standardsPrepare specifications and other design documentationPerform field investigations and provide reports on work undertakenReview studies in specialist areas such as geotechnical, hydrological and surveyPrepare civil, structural and building design details for high voltage substations including, but not limited to, bulk earthworks, roads, drainage, reinforced concrete, structural steelwork and building works.Ensure work is completed on time and in accordance with quality assurance requirements.Provides management timely and accurate briefingsSkills & ExperienceTo be successful in this role you will have:Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent relevant experienceHigh voltage substation civil & structural design experience is preferred but not mandatoryCommunicates with a range of persons including customers, suppliers, contractors, other technical experts and senior management (written and verbal)Written communications skills for persuasive reports and submissionsAnalytical, conceptual and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of various computer systems and quality assurance proceduresRecognition & Reward
