This highly experienced team provides advice on all forms of loan recovery, restructuring, and securities enforcement matters, together with corporate insolvency. They also act in commercial dispute matters for corporate clients and handle commercial litigation matters of all sizes in Australian state and federal jurisdictions.About the PartnerThe Partner in charge of this practice, Stephen Hume, has 20 years' experience acting for Australia's largest banks and financial institutions. Stephen was recognised by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific as a Recommended Lawyer for Restructuring & Insolvency in Australia, 2024. He advises on all aspects of restructuring and securities enforcement (reconstructions, work-outs, and formal appointments), banking and finance litigation, insolvency, and commercial litigation. Stephen has extensive experience leading teams and developing strategic partnerships with institutional clients.What does the role involve?We can offer you the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative and energetic team on large and complex, often high-profile matters. On a day-to-day basis you will have the chance to:Act for Australia's leading banks on complex restructuring and securities enforcement matters.Act for receivers and managers as well as administrators and liquidators on the external administration of insolvent entities.Advise on various complex domestic and international restructuring, insolvency, and litigation matters.Contribute knowledge and learning resources, including precedents.Participate in business development and client relationship activities.About youWe value our culture at K&L Gates and are proud of our friendly and respectful reputation. We are looking for a likeminded individual who, in addition to possessing technical excellence and fantastic client service skills, is able to work collaboratively in a team to get things done.We are seeking a Lawyer (2 - 5 years PQE) with strong restructuring, insolvency, and litigation experience who has ideally worked in a similar firm on similar matters, or who has been working in-house.You will ideally have previous exposure to large banking litigation matters, insolvency matters, general commercial litigation, managed investment scheme litigation, loan recovery, and securities enforcement. You should be practical and proactive in your approach, in addition to demonstrating strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
