Therapeutic Programs Officer

Trek Learning Centre is a not-for-profit organisation working to ensure children, young people & families experience health, wellbeing, equity, access & opportunity in their lives through a range of outdoor, wilderness, therapeutic and 1:1 programs.
TLC programs offer therapeutic group interventions, family and adolescent camps, workshops & individual therapy providing frameworks for healing, recovery, skill development, capacity building and genuine next-step pathways.
Trek Learning Centre builds sustainable and equitable pathways to education, employment, health and wellbeing for young people experiencing ill-mental health, disengagement or isolation, providing individual case management for participants including care team facilitation, assessments and term plans, professional training in therapeutic trauma-responsiveness improving how trauma impacts are understood and addressed, 'reset' and 'rites of passage' camps for young people and families.
Trek leads the way, supporting young people and their families in experiencing purpose, strength, connection and belonging.
Qualification Requirements (one of the following)Youth WorkSocial WorkPsychologist/CounsellorExperienceExperience working with children, teens and familiesCapacity to provide 1:1 therapy with children and young people in a therapeutic farm environment.Can work within attachment, poly-vagal, proprioceptive, neuroceptive and interoceptive recovery-based frameworks in an outdoor environmentExperience in permaculture, cooking, building or creative endeavours.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesDeliver therapeutic, trauma recovery, and capacity building programs in an outdoor therapeutic farm or camp environment for groups of 4-15 children or young people.Competently write reports, provide individual case management and develop next-step pathways for up to 10 young people.Participate within a team to ensure all aspects of daily programming, including set up and packed down are completed.Can competently work with and happily care for animals in the workplace providing therapeutic responses and interventions for children and young people.Can respond to heightened needs of children and young people with safety and calm within trauma recovery frameworks.Cook with small groups of young people.Daily reflective practice as a team, supporting best practice, strengthening the purpose of our work and professional skill and capability.Daily lunch- harvested, cooked and shared as part of each day's program delivery.An incredible team of committed, warm and inclusive professionals working together to ensure better outcomes for vulnerable young people.Non-delivery program days- curriculum/report writing/professional development 2 x every term.#J-18808-Ljbffr
