Executive Manager, Transformational Initiatives, Risk Oversight Job Description Permanent or Max Term Contract Available Sydney/Melbourne I Hybrid (2-3 days in Office) Exciting time in second line defence as we support the simplification of our offering to customers through technology How will I help? Due to growth in transformation initiatives across Westpac Group, we are growing our 2nd Line of Defence to strengthen our risk defence leadership over this period of exciting change.
Multiple roles available for risk professionals to provide oversight of a range of transformational projects within the Business and Wealth Division.
As an Executive Manager in the Business and Wealth Risk team, you will play a key role in the provision of insight, oversight, and challenge of risk management of key change initiatives, including UNITE, a multi-billion technology simplification program for the Bank.
Your key responsibilities will include:
To apply a risk-based approach to 2nd line Oversight of Change Execution Risk, aligned to the Transformation Policy and Standard, and the 3LoD Model Standard. To challenge and oversight UNITE project initiatives, to ensure that both delivery and delivered risks are adequately managed by the project teams. To provide insights and advice in solution design and change execution. To produce and present senior management reporting to project forums, risk committees and program Steering Committees. To provide Line 2 review and challenge of key project artifacts including Business Cases, Risk and Control Matrix and so on. To provide the business with insights into emerging risks arising from potential changes in business strategy, thematic reviews of internal events, key external learnings, or changes in inherent risk environment. To drive and support innovative risk management solutions which are simpler and better as a foundation for competitive advantage, as well as being aligned and integrated across business units. What do I need? You will be a passionate risk leader, with proven Line 1 or Line 2 risk experience in a financial services environment.
Previous experience in large scale customer facing technology migration and transformation programs will make you stand out from other candidates.
You will demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to thrive in a demanding and fast-moving project delivery environment where the Customer and Risk outcomes are core to delivery.
Retail banking experience is preferred.
