About the Role Hastings Deering is on the hunt for a Mechanical Specialist to join our award-winning team in Mackay or Rockhampton reporting to our Maintenance and Engineering Manager- Dragline & Electric Rope Shovels.
This is a Permanent, Monday to Friday role.
The key focus of this position is to provide support and direction to both internal and site based teams through technical Mechanical services for Draglines and Electric Rope Shovels.
As a Mechanical Specialist, you will:
Work collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels with provision of status reportsProvide on-site technical expertise to diagnose and repair advanced mechanical systems, ensuring work is completed to the correct equipment specificationsEnsure mechanical audit inspections align with OEM specifications and risk based decisions are accurate & prioritised correctlyProvide supervision support for customers major outages and shutdowns.Assist with scope development, review and co-ordination of customers major asset mechanical component repairs & overhaulsProvide assistance to customer maintenance, reliability and improvement teams on improvement projectsReview costs of proposed mechanical repairs/upgrades and provide OEM support / information / on upgradesWhy Hastings Deering? Demonstrated experience with mining maintenance activities on Draglines and Electric Rope ShovelsTrade qualified Mechanical / Fitter and or tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering desirableProven ability in developing strategies, budgets and workscopes for repairs & upgradesExperience in supervision and quality control of repairs undertaken including third party managementPositive attitude to developing the business through a team approachWell-developed customer and communication skillsTo Apply: Hit the 'Apply Now' button
