The Hospital Canberra Hospital is the largest public hospital in the Australian Capital Territory, serving as the primary tertiary referral center for Canberra and the surrounding regions.
With over 600 beds, the hospital provides comprehensive healthcare services across a wide range of specialties, including emergency care, surgery, maternity, pediatrics, and oncology.
It is renowned for its high-quality care and cutting-edge facilities, including the Centenary Hospital for Women and Children, which offers a family-integrated model of care.
As the sole tertiary neonatal unit in the region, Canberra Hospital is also a key center for high-risk pregnancy and neonatal care.
Beyond its clinical services, Canberra Hospital is deeply engaged in education, research, and innovation.
About the Role The Women, Youth, and Children Community Health Programs deliver a range of primary health care services to children, families, and women.The Neonatal Department at this hospital provides comprehensive perinatal and surgical neonatal care to the ACT and surrounding regions.The Neonatal Department comprises 20 NICU/HDU beds and 18 SCN beds, accommodating 700–800 admissions annually.The team is supported by six Neonatologists, one Senior Career Medical Officer (SCMO), four advanced trainees (fellows), nine Neonatal Registrars, and three residents.Strong research collaborations exist with the Australian National University (ANU), the University of Canberra, and the Australian Catholic University.The preferred candidate may be considered for a conjoint academic position with ANU, commensurate with their qualifications and experience.To Apply Hold or be Eligible for AHPRA Specialist Registration.
