ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of the Employment Coordinator is integral to the implementation of the Department's new high profile initiative to establish a Prisoner Employment Program.

Employment Coordinator manages, develops and implements employment programs for offenders in the prison and in the community.
Develops strategies and methods to expand employment opportunities for offenders in the region.
Case manages individual offenders and employers, formulating business cases for viable employment.
Provides the pivotal link of information and advisory services to prison management, staff and offenders, other State and Commonwealth Government departments, Job Network Providers, employers and the community.

As an integral part of the Department of Justice, the Career and Employment Services Branch has a primary responsibility to work for the achievement of a safe and orderly community.
Employment Coordinators are responsible for:
Coordinating the Prisoner Employment Program Career Counselling and Identifying barriers to employment Identifying training needs of prisoners Developing links with Community groups, Employer Groups and Government Organisations Sourcing employers and RTOs APPLICATION PROCESS
