Our esteemed National Design Team operates at the forefront of creativity, shaping impactful solutions that redefine the housing industry. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and make a meaningful influence. Leverage on your creativity and design expertise to recommend intuitive design solutions and stay current with trend.Reporting to the Design Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:Understand, recognise and implement design standards and processesProduce accurate design documentation that addresses the design brief and in alignment with product and display delivery programsTake on a design concept and implement the idea/s across the product rangePositively support and foster the continual improvements on product designsResolve design related queries that may arise from Display, Masters, Operations and other disciplines within the businessManage the design and documentation of all aspects of the home which may include – site plans, floor plans, facades, elevations, internals, design options, relevant details, and DOL/other forms of schedulesKeep up-to-date and adhere to national building codes and regulationsAware of the procedures for obtaining permits and approvals for construction projectsStay on trend and current with residential design trends, latest building products and emerging technologies to drive innovationMeet set deadlines and contribute actively to individual and team workflow, reporting and time management; andProblem solve and contribute positively to the solution of product designs.Metricon will offer you:Stylish Robina Gold Coast office with parking onsiteA culture at Metricon that you can be yourselfNo Two Days Are the Same in this roleBe supported by a Management Team that has a Culture Where You MatterOn-going learning and development opportunities to help build your skills and reach your potential - whether through nationally accredited courses, our highly engaging e-learning portal or other comprehensive training programsMetricon Homes – Australia largest, and #1 Home Builder for the 9th Consecutive YearWe promote mentoring and provide genuine opportunities for role progression, along with a competitive salary, and salary package opportunitiesAttractive housing discounts on our award-winning homesYou Matter Physical fitness, free flu vaccinations, nutrition and mental well-being are just some of the programs we sponsor at Metricon to address your well being24/7 access to our LifeWorks confidential support program which includes coaching for success and navigating personal and work challenges; andExclusive access to building discounts, supplier / trade discounts, and retail discounts with big name brands through our rewards platform.The successful candidate will have:Strong design skills and a passion for design excellenceHas a strong portfolio showcasing innovative and creative residential designs, demonstrating a deep understanding of user-centred design principlesRelevant degree or diploma in Building Design & Drafting, Diploma of Architectural Drafting or equivalentMinimum 5 years of experience in design and/or drafting environmentExperience in the residential volume home building industry in a design and/or drafting capacity is highly preferredProficiency in design software and tools relating to house design.
