About the role
Are Media is on the hunt for a roving part-time copy editor to work two days a week across the Women's Entertainment category, assisting on our weekly brands including Woman's Day, New Idea, TV Week, Who, Take 5 and that's life
Joining a talented group of copy editors in a dynamic, creative, and highly driven team, you'll be responsible for copy editing and fact checking everything from celebrity updates and exclusive interviews with Aussie talent, to breaking news stories and lifestyle and food content, sometimes working across multiple publications in a week.
This is an exciting role for someone who is versatile, can easily adapt their style and tone in print and online to match any brand, and has an eye for the finer details.
You'll work closely with the Editorial Directors, Editors and Senior Copy Editor of all publications, ensuring both quality and smooth omnichannel workflow, and assisting writers with edits where needed.

Duties
Stay up to date with celebrity, royal, TV/entertainment and breaking Aussie news Copy edit and fact check magazine features – editorial and lifestyle - providing feedback and guidance for writers and contributors Help maintain the overall tone of the publication being worked on Take charge of legal checks and prepublication processes where required Adhere to a clear and effective omnichannel workflow Skills and experience
Minimum 3 years' experience on a magazine, website, or related industry Strong written and verbal communication skills with high-level attention to detail Ability to change tone and style to match any of the publications in the Women's Entertainment vertical Ability to deal with a fast-paced, changing environment Experience with editorial software applications Are Media is committed to a diverse, respectful, collaborative & inclusive workplace.
