Job Overview :
We are seeking a Collections Officer to join Australia's largest independent insurance premium funding company based in Adelaide.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of overdue accounts and collaborate closely with brokers, stakeholders, and customers.
The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, the ability to handle difficult conversations, and previous experience in collections is favourable.
This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the company's cash flow while ensuring exceptional service for our clients.

This is a 6-month contract with availability for extension and permanency.

Key Responsibilities :
Manage Portfolio of Overdue Accounts: Monitor a dedicated portfolio of overdue accounts, identifying and addressing late payments to ensure they are resolved efficiently.
Customer Communication: Proactively reach out to customers via phone, email, and written communication to discuss outstanding payments and negotiate payment terms or plans where necessary.
Negotiate Payment Solutions: Lead discussions with customers, brokers, and stakeholders to negotiate settlements, payment extensions, or structured payment plans.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all communications, payment arrangements, and actions taken for each account.
Dispute Resolution: Handle customer disputes regarding overdue payments, billing errors, or discrepancies, working to resolve issues promptly and professionally.
We are looking for someone with :
Excellent communication, problem solving, negotiation, and basic financial calculations skills.
Preferably experience in credit or collections.
Organisation and time management skills to ensure comfortability in phone-based and high-volume environments.
