Clinical Nurse - Inpatient Withdrawal Unit (IPWU)
Location: East Perth
Unit/Division: East Metropolitan Health Service - Next Step Drug and Alcohol Services
About the Role The Inpatient Withdrawal Unit provides supervised, medical treatment for clients 18 years and older requiring withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs.
The 17 bed unit is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by nurses and Allied health workers.
Doctors are on site during normal business hours and are available on call after hours including weekends and public holidays.
The Clinical Nurse provides advanced, comprehensive and evidence-based AOD / withdrawal nursing care to patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The role also facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care in collaboration with colleagues and Senior Registered Nurses.
The position acts as a role model, providing leadership, support, team building and change management through respect, recognition and collaboration.
The Clinical Nurse practices within their scope of practice considerate of the Nursing and Midwifery Board's Nursing Practice Decision Flowchart.
About You We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join this highly specialised service that embraces a multidisciplinary approach to its care.
You will be:
Experienced working in drug and alcohol treatment inpatient ward based services;Demonstrated ability to provide leadership consistent with the organisational values and behaviors;Able to understand and act within key boundaries and maintain a professional relationship with patients;Experienced in working with patients with challenging and complex presentations;Ability to work 24/7 fully flexible shift work (as per IPWU roster);Ability to work independently during after hour shifts and liaise appropriately with on call doctor/ manager.We reward you: East Metropolitan Health Service is committed to staff development and wellbeing.
