The Blue Gum Centre for Psychology and Psychotherapy is a small, well established private practice of highly experienced psychotherapists located in Croydon, East of Melbourne.
We consist of eight psychologists and one mental health social worker.
We have a wide referral base and see adults with a range of clinical and non-clinical concerns.
We have a reputation for treating complex presentations which forms about 30% of our work.
Our psychotherapists are formulation and process driven in their approaches (as opposed to diagnosis and protocol driven), and committed to continual improvement of our practice and client outcomes.We are looking for an APHRA registered psychologist who can see themselves as a valued member of our team and would like to join us in a subcontracting arrangement.
Ideally, applicants will have experience in mental health settings and are looking to branch out into private practice work.
We are also open to clinical and counselling registrars who are passionate about learning and are highly committed to their practice and development as psychologists.At the Blue Gum Centre we aim to provide a genuine atmosphere of support and respect for individual needs and self-expression.
Our practitioners decide when to have holidays and what therapeutic approaches to use.
They have control of their client list and diary.
To balance autonomy, we find time to discuss our work, ideas and experiences with each other, as well sharing pots of tea, twice yearly social events (not mandatory) and warm collegiality.
The practice is well organised and there is a high degree of support on a day to day basis with the principle psychologist usually on site and available for administrative and clinical support.
Intake for all clients, especially those presenting with complexity is thorough and thoughtful such that we only accept clients who are therapy ready and have appropriate supports in place.
We triage clients to try and get the best fit for our practitioners.
The principle psychologist consults practitioners about any new referrals as well as existing clients and balance of caseloads.
We do not accept referrals for the purposes of assessment and report preparation.
Monthly individual supervision is offered with the clinic owners who are board approved supervisors.
We have a flat organisational structure - there is just me - the owner and principal psychologist, and you - the contracting psychologists.
