About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Boilermaker to join our team, based out of our Burleigh Heads, Qld workshop.
Working as a member of the production team, you will use hand-welding equipment and semi-automated equipment to weld or join metal construction and fabrication components safely, to quality and time specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities Read drawings, work orders, and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications. Competently and safely operate welding equipment to the required specifications and Australian Standard. Competently set up and operate hand and power tools common to the fabrication trade. Label and sort manufactured plate material into product groups. Mark-out, cut/drill/punch holes as required for plate material in accordance with fabrication drawings. Layout, position, align and assemble components together in accordance with fabrication drawings and tolerances. Mechanical cutting of steel and compiling of cutting lists from fabrication drawings. Measure and cut raw materials with straightedges and high accuracy. Move steel in workshop with forklift (where licensed and authorised). Transfer fabricated components between production departments in accordance with production schedules. Perform general housekeeping and maintenance of work areas, equipment, tools, and facilities. Safely and efficiently undertake all other duties in the workshop as instructed by the Fabrication Supervisor. Skills and Experience Trade qualifications in welding/boiler making with working knowledge of standard practices and methods of the fabrication trade. Proven experience using reliable, safe work practices. Forklift licence. Willingness to work reasonable amounts of overtime as operationally required. Flexible approach and cooperative team attitude. Genuine passion for fabrication trade.
