About the Role We're seeking a Senior Legal Counsel – Property to join our Legal Business Support Team and work with our Property Teams.
While your role will involve broad legal support across the entire business, your primary focus will be as the principal legal advisor on all property-related matters and initiatives.
Therefore you will: partner with internal teams to develop strategies and negotiate agreements regarding commercial, corporate and retail premises that align with Tabcorp's property objectives; manage comprehensive legal services including purchase, sales, leasing, licensing, and dispute resolution across Tabcorp's property portfolio; monitor legislation and government policies, ensuring compliance while addressing emerging legal issues that impact the business; proactively identify and manage legal risks and resolve formal notices or claims to prevent disputes or litigation; and build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including legal counsel and service providers, to enhance the efficiency of legal services.
What You'll Bring To succeed in this role, you'll be an accomplished legal counsel with a proven track record of providing commercially focused, pragmatic, and effective legal advice in support of property matters.
You'll have developed this experience either in private practice and/or within a large and highly regulated corporate environment.
You'll also possess: expertise in a broad range of property matters, including sales and acquisitions, construction, fit outs, leasing and related issues; broad experience across transactional, advisory, and dispute work; a strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance commercial, legal, and reputational risks; excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and drafting skills; and proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues or operate autonomously.
