Their work integrates contemporary neuroscience, cultural intelligence, and Aboriginal philosophy to drive meaningful social change and reconciliation.About the RoleWe're looking for a passionate and experienced Senior First Nations Strategic Consultant to join YarnnUp in a dynamic role that blends strategy, stakeholder engagement, and reconciliation.
This position will allow you to make a lasting impact by helping organisations navigate the reconciliation journey through the development and implementation of Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs) whilst developing sustainable alternative strategic frameworks for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement.
You'll lead efforts to build long-term, culturally respectful relationships while guiding organisations across employment, procurement, and community engagement strategies.
This role would suit a person who is solutions focused and not afraid to lean into this talent.RAP Implementation and Advisory SupportLead and guide organisations through RAP creation and evolution, ensuring alignment with their corporate and social impact goals.
Consulting to divisional leads and teams to help operationalise RAP initiatives across all business units.Conduct regular virtual and face-to-face meetings with RAP working groups to review progress, address challenges, and strategise next steps.
This includes developing resources like guides, business cases, and frameworks to empower clients in implementing best practices in RAPs tailored to their sector.First Nations Advisory - Strategic Framework DevelopmentSupport the development and implementation of First Nations Engagement Frameworks that align with clients' strategic goals and values.
Assisting on Investment Strategies, advising on culturally competent and impactful investments.Facilitate stakeholder workshops and consultations to co-design strategies that resonate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.Employment and Procurement StrategiesAdvise clients on building meaningful employment pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Including the creation of toolkits and resources to align employment and procurement policies with RAP commitments or other First Nations strategic initiatives and organisational values.Support the development of procurement strategies that promote engagement with Indigenous businesses, fostering supply chain diversity.Community Engagement and Relationship BuildingBuild and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, ensuring culturally safe and impactful client engagement.Engage in continuous knowledge-sharing with communities and stakeholders to enhance client strategies.
Organise and participate in community sessions to gather insights and refine client approaches for optimal outcomes.Resource Development and Best Practice InsightsResearch, develop, and provide clients with materials such as strategic guides, frameworks, and checklists to ensure industry-leading RAP practices as well as effective implementation of other strategic initiatives such as First Nations investment or engagement strategies.Establish metrics and evaluation methods for clients to assess RAP and other First Nations program impacts.Stay current on best practices across sectors to enhance client offerings and implementation outcomes.Essential Key Selection CriteriaAboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander Background: Identifies as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander, with strong community ties and a deep understanding of First Nations culture, history, and social dynamics.Strategic Consulting Experience: Proven experience providing strategic advice in RAP implementation and / or other First Nations strategic policies or strategies, community engagement, and organisational change.RAP Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of RAP frameworks, including experience in employment, procurement, and social impact initiatives.Policy and Framework Development: Ability to design and implement frameworks or policies that drive positive, sustainable outcomes.Communication and Facilitation Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience facilitating workshops and meetings.Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in relationship-building, committed to creating inclusive, culturally respectful environments.DesirableExperience managing multiple projects, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes.Knowledge of ESG, D&I, and CSR Principles: Understanding of Environmental, Social, and Governance frameworks, Diversity & Inclusion, and Corporate Social Responsibility as they relate to RAP objectives.Ability to conduct research and provide evidence-based recommendations to support best practices in RAP and engagement strategies.Benefits and Professional DevelopmentAccess to professional development in reconciliation, social impact, and First Nations engagement.Cultural leave and entitlements.Contribute to advancing reconciliation and building culturally safe, inclusive environments that benefit Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.Strong career progression opportunities within a growing business.If you're ready to make a meaningful difference and work with a team that values cultural integrity and social change, we'd love to hear from youHow to ApplyAre you interested?
