Executive Manager, Enterprise Reference Data ManagementWestpac Banking Corporation, Sydney, AustraliaJob DescriptionAll roles at Westpac Group can be considered for flexible working arrangements, such as flexible hours, working remotely, part time work, or job sharing.Executive Manager, Enterprise Reference Data Management - 49800Permanent Career OpportunitySydney Location PreferredHow will I help?The Executive Manager, Enterprise Reference Data Management is part of the Enterprise Reference Data Management (ERDM) team, within Information Management & Data Platforms Operations, Data Platforms, that provides:A centrally governed enterprise reference data capabilityProduct management of the ERD Foundational Data Product (FDP)Reference Data is data used to classify or categorize other business data. A consistent approach for managing Enterprise Reference Data is one of the foundational capabilities required for an organization to achieve agility and consistency in managing data.The purpose is to ensure consistency in managing data to reduce the cost of operations and change, and reduce operational risk. The scope of this role includes increasing maturity of the enterprise reference data management operating model. The role will uplift governance and risk management practices across the end-to-end capability including the ERDM platform and the new ERD FDP.Role accountabilities include:Enterprise Reference Data Management StrategySupport and input into the enterprise-level strategy for reference data and associated initiatives.Advise, recommend, influence and drive reference data best practice and improvement.Engage with senior stakeholders on reference data standardization.Act as the subject matter expert on enterprise data management systems, tools and processes.Promote Reference Data management across the group and proactively drive centralization (adoption, usage and consumption) of enterprise reference data.Data management, governance and operating modelDevelop, implement, mature and embed the ERD operating model and operational excellence.Analyze, design, develop and uplift reference data processes and tools including current and target state process mapping, and gap analysis.Develop, maintain and uplift ERD artifacts, documentation and reference material (including standards and guidance).Perform effective change management, supporting impacted stakeholders through proactive consultation and communication.Uplift data accountability for ERD across the Group, including identifying and influencing divisional stakeholders to accept accountability.Drive ongoing alignment with other data management and governance capabilities (e.g. Metadata Management, Data Quality, etc.).Risk managementUnderstand and meet risk management obligations, including (data risk) accountabilities and comply with any regulatory compliance requirements.Drive ongoing alignment with risk management frameworks and policies.Role model and proactively promote adherence to Group policies and standards including Data Risk Management.Identify and assess risks, and uplift control environment (including design and implementation of new controls as required).What's in it for me?You'll play a significant part of the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years. Whatever shape your family takes, we offer generous paid and unpaid parental leave for your nominated primary and support carers.What do I need?Data Management, Governance and Op ModelStrong experience in Data Management - Development, execution, and supervision of plans, policies, programs, and practices that deliver, control, protect, and enhance the value of data and information assets throughout their lifecycles.Demonstrated experience in delivering and implementing models and change.Strong experience in Data Governance - Exercise of authority and control (planning, monitoring, and enforcement) over the management of data assets.Strong experience in Information management, analysis, design, tooling and lineage including databases, hierarchies, mappings.Data management principles and capabilities such as Reference data, Master data, Data quality, Metadata management.Demonstrated experience in developing and maturing operating models and processes.Programs of work from inception to implementation to achieve transformational and behavioral change.Data RiskRisk and Controls - Managing data risk and uplifting control environment.Strong understanding of business impact due to data risk.SkillsHighly developed analytical skills.Builds effective relationships and assimilates information quickly.Ability to influence and lead.Driven to deliver - proven ability to deliver the best possible results for the organization; and shows determination, resourcefulness and a sense of purpose in achieving this.Trusted Advisor - proven thought leadership ability.Problem Solver - ability to present options and resolve for maximum long term benefit.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Project management and change management.Governance and risk management.Business analysis, policy writing and critical thinking.Tools - Excel (intermediate), SQL (desirable), Confluence/JIRA (basic - intermediate).How do I apply?Start here.
