Management (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. Harmony owns the Eva Copper project, a near-term copper project in Queensland, Australia. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.The Supply Support Lead will manage the Fixed Price Agreement Contracts for Goods and Capital Purchases, oversee Logistics Functions, as well as the coaching and development of the Lae Procurement team.This dynamic role involves a combination of Brisbane-based work, with flexible practices, and on-site presence at Lae in PNG, operating on the following roster: FIFO 9/5 days PNG (Lae), followed by residential 5/2 Mon-Fri rotation in Brisbane.Reporting to the Group Manager – Procurement and Supply Chain, the key responsibilities of this role include:Fixed Price Agreements for Goods, Oversee Logistics Functions and Capital Purchases.Coaching/developing Brisbane and Lae Purchasing and Logistics teams.Build, develop, coach and lead a team of purchasing professionals in value-adding purchasing activities.Monitor, analyse, evaluate and share commodity market conditions/trends, developing technologies, supply chain capacity/capability, product knowledge, stakeholder requirements and supply/demand challenges.Manage product/service strategies and perform opportunity analysis to identify sourcing and continuous improvement projects that will deliver significant total cost of ownership savings, value improvement and reduced risk encompassing all facets of the supply chain.Manage rigorous and disciplined processes and frameworks for managing the supply base, including leading periodic business reviews, monitoring and managing supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery, technology, service, and leadership), managing supplier relationships and developing and monitoring supplier improvement plans.Manage spend management strategies including supplier assessments and rationalization, negotiation for best total cost of ownership, make vs. buy analyses, vendor managed inventories, inventory reduction programs, cycle time improvements, and security of supply.Manage day-to-day Fixed Price Agreement and Capital acquisitions functions for Goods.Provide management, leadership and support to Lae purchasing team and direct reports with a focus on developing and coaching them to achieve the business outcomes.Manage governance and control programs to ensure business continuity, protect company assets, and comply with corporate and regulatory policies for areas of responsibility.Maintain procurement records within the approved corporate document management system including contracts, variations, governance and savings achieved to plan.Implement Procurement Strategies aligning to optimize in-country sourcing where commercially viable opportunities exist.About You:To succeed in this role, you should be a highly experienced professional, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently and collaboratively holding the following qualifications and experience:High level of competence in using ERPs with at least 10 years' experience.Minimum 10 years Mining, Oil and Gas or heavy industry experience in Sourcing and Supply Chain Management.Experience with Pronto and Flowcentric.Degree qualification or higher in Supply Chain or finance discipline (desirable).Association Membership and Certification from CIPSA; SCLAA or similar (desirable).What are the benefits of working for Harmony?Flexible working practices (when working in Brisbane).Eligible to participate in the company bonus scheme.The opportunity to work for an international mining company with a diverse workforce.Corporate/discounted rates with Medibank and Qantas Club.Access to Harmony's benefits discounts scheme.If you believe you have the skills, knowledge and experience to fulfil this role, please submit your application online.
