Executive Director Australian Institute of Police Management (SES Band 2) The Australian Federal Police (AFP) is a key player in the Australian security landscape, rising to complex challenges and staying a step ahead to protect Australians as new threats emerge.

What is the role
The Executive Director of the AIPM reports administratively to the AFP Executive and is responsible for the effective leadership and management of the Institute.
In this role, you will lead a small group of dedicated education and administrative professionals and be responsible for the seamless delivery of contemporaneous executive education, with a focus on ensuring it meets the current and emerging leadership capability development needs of the policing and public safety sector.
To be successful in this role you will have exceptional management, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and have a proven ability to develop and maintain partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders both domestically and internationally.
Proven management experience in adult education delivery, a passion for leadership education and a comprehensive knowledge of the policing environment and its cultural and operating frameworks is essential.
What will you do
Strategically manage the organisation with a focus on ensuring its sustainability and future viability.
Identify and activate opportunities for innovation and growth across all elements of the enterprise.
Providing advice to, and work with, the AIPM Board on the strategic direction for police leadership, executive development and Institute programs.
Proactively develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and clients.
Ensure AIPM products meet the current and future leadership capability needs of police jurisdictions.
Actively contribute to the development of high-quality leadership programs and activities.
Co-facilitate online and residential classroom sessions across various leadership programs.
Host police and public safety executives, leaders and visiting delegations as required.
Minimum Requirements
Qualify to be able to live and work in Australia; Negative Vet 1 (Secret) security clearance (or the ability to obtain one); Relevant tertiary qualifications; Proven executive education delivery and management experience, as well as extensive experience working in a similar learning/accredited tertiary organisation environment.
Be a strong leader with behaviours that demonstrate courage, collaboration, a focus on people and a commitment to identifying and addressing emerging challenges and risks.
