Health, Safety & Environment (Construction) Downer's Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, providing services and solutions that connect communities to essential networks and infrastructure.
We design, build, operate and maintain today's critical assets and networks, delivering complete services across the water, electricity, telecommunications, industrial and power generation sectors.
Our expertise spans in-house technical smarts, specialist engineering, integrated OEM partners, and dedicated crews of qualified tradespeople.
Our Energy and Utilities (E&U) business is seeking multiple Safety professionals to join our ever-growing team in a full-time capacity. You will be working within the Power Projects space predominantly focused on transmission and substations projects, however, will have the opportunity to be exposed to other areas of our E&U business.
We are seeking applications from experienced Zero Harm Advisors that are able and willing to partake in a FIFO roster. We have opportunities based in multiple locations around AU including QLD & NSW.
On top of a competitive salary package, we provide a Project Allowance (15%-30%), LAFHA ($275/day) and a roster of 20/8 or 10/4 dependent on project and location.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Zero Harm Advisor, you will have the opportunity to guide, support and develop the operational team's mentality toward Safety to ensure adherence to the Downer Zero Harm standards, legislative requirements and above all else, ensure our people return home safely every day.
Some key responsibilities of the role include: Coach Project Managers, Engineers, supervisors and field crews to successfully promote and foster a proactive culture of Zero Harm and environmental safety.Ensure application of Downer Zero Harm standards and legislative requirements to all work activities.Conduct observations, site inspections and audits.Investigate incidents, injuries or breaches of safety and environment procedures.Manage incident reporting within Downer and Client systems.ABOUT YOU Minimum 3 years of operational safety exposure within a project-based environment or equivalent trade-based experience (Energy, Utilities or Civil industry experience preferred).Prior utilisation of Health Safety & Environment Management systems.Certificate IV in OHS/WHS.Degree Qualification in OHS/WHS (advantageous but not essential).ICAM lead investigator Auditing (advantageous but not essential).Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, communication, and problem-solving skills.OUR OFFER: Support from the Senior Leadership team with a focus on career progression.Suite of benefits including health and wellness initiatives.Support a collaborative contract with a focus on relationships.Inclusive work culture that embraces diversity and inclusion.Access to wider Downer group opportunities.Our aim is to create a workplace where people are respected and encouraged to fulfil their potential.
