Senior Associate/Special Counsel - Employment Law - Gold CoastAbout the role
Aitken Legal is seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our thriving Employment Law firm.
This is a full-time or part-time role based in our Gold Coast office in Robina.
We are offering additional annual leave, a 4.5 day week for full-time lawyers and flexible/hybrid working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.
What you will be doing Providing expert legal advice and strategic guidance to employers on the full spectrum of employment law matters, including employee entitlements, performance management, termination and dismissal, managing injured employees, discrimination, harassment and bullying, restructures and redundancies, workplace health and safety, and more.Representing employers in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Court of Australia, and other tribunals and courts on employment-related disputes and litigation.Drafting and negotiating employment contracts, enterprise agreements, workplace policies, and other employment-related documentation.Undertaking workplace investigations and drafting reports.Delivering tailored training and presentations on employment law topics.Working with a supportive and collaborative team.What we're looking for 8+ years of post-admission experience in employment law advising employers, ideally gained within a law firm.Comprehensive knowledge of Australian workplace relations and employment-related legislation and awards.Proven track record of successfully advising and representing employers in employment-related disputes and litigation.Confidence and ability to provide sound advice to employers in telephone conferences and in-person meetings.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain English to non-legal audiences.Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.A genuine passion for employment law and for being a true specialist in this area of law.What we offer At Aitken Legal, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that empowers our employees to thrive.
