Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Manager to lead our tax accounting team.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Australian taxation laws and regulations, coupled with strong leadership skills to manage and develop a high-performing team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of the firm while providing strategic tax solutions to our valued clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals.Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.Oversee workload distribution and ensure efficient resource utilisation.Tax Compliance and Advisory Services Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns and financial statements.Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients.Ensure all tax activities comply with Australian taxation laws and regulations.Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients.Identify opportunities to expand services and generate new business.Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their tax-related inquiries and concerns.Business Development Participate in networking events and industry forums to enhance the firm's market presence.Develop proposals and presentations for prospective clients.Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the firm's services.Process Improvement Review and enhance internal processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.Stay updated with the latest tax legislation changes and implement necessary adjustments.Ensure the firm's policies and procedures are adhered to consistently.Qualifications and ExperienceEducation Bachelor's degree in Accounting.Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification is mandatory.Experience Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.Extensive knowledge of Australian tax laws and compliance requirements.Proven track record of managing a team and delivering results.Skills and CompetenciesTechnical Skills High proficiency in Xero Practice Manager and Xero Blue, and Microsoft Office Suite.Proficiency in other accounting software including MYOB, QuickBooks, Reckon.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Expertise in tax planning, compliance, and advisory services.Strong grasp of Capital Gains Tax and Payroll Tax, Land Tax treatments and Land Tax Surcharge Rates.Experience with Karbon, FYIDocs and ChangeGPS is desirable.Leadership Skills Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve targets.Communication Skills Superior verbal and written communication skills.Ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.Interpersonal Skills Strong client relationship management skills.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the firm.Personal Attributes High level of professionalism and integrity.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Proactive and results-oriented mindset.Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.What We OfferCompetitive remuneration package.Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement in a fast-growing firm.A supportive and collaborative work environment.Flexible working arrangements.How to ApplyInterested candidates are invited to submit their resume and a cover letter detailing their relevant experience and qualifications.
