Mills Recruitment is searching for a skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Perth.
As a prominent leader in the industry, our client delivers high-impact projects across Australia, including:
Mining Minerals processing LNG installations Refineries Chemical plants Power stations Telecommunications infrastructure The role: In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing discipline estimates, developing work plans, and conducting mechanical investigations and studies.
As a leader in the team, your input will be key to driving the success of complex projects and ensuring the effective implementation of mechanical components.
You'll also support and mentor team members, contributing to the project's overall performance.
Responsibilities:
Plan, lead, and participate in day-to-day mechanical engineering activities on medium to large projects or oversee multiple smaller projects.
Supervise and coordinate engineering staff, assign tasks, and manage schedules.
Provide technical input for procurement, ensuring accurate and effective material sourcing.
Develop and manage discipline estimates and work plans to align with project scope, budget, and timeline.
Collaborate with other disciplines to maintain coordination and meet client requirements.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 13-15 years of relevant experience, or 17-19 years of work experience in a similar role.
Proven experience in materials handling systems (crushing, screening, conveyors, transfers, pump stations).
Background in Iron Ore and hard rock systems preferably.
Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools, strong communication abilities, and comprehensive knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices.
