Are you an experienced electrical engineer passionate about leadership and innovation in the power transmission industry?
We're seeking a dynamic professional to join a leading electricity transmission company in Queensland as a Team Leader for Transmission Line Electrical Design.
Role Overview As the Team Leader, you will be crucial in providing line design services for major infrastructure projects, managing internal and external design resources.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a team of professional designers while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of primary electrical designers and draftersOversee the delivery, approval, and certification of designs and associated documentationEnsure consistent implementation of transmission line design standards and specificationsCoordinate resource planning and work allocation for internal and outsourced projectsDrive team performance and professional development through coaching and mentoringTranslate operational goals into SMART team and individual performance objectivesManage technical procurement support efficientlyQualifications and Skills Required: Bachelor of Engineering degreeRegistered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in a relevant field or ability to registerExtensive experience in transmission line electrical design for 110kV and aboveStrong knowledge of safety clearances, noise and EMF studies, insulation coordination, and earthing system designAdvanced technical specification and report-writing skillsProven leadership capabilities in a technical environmentDesirable: Experience with PC-based office tools and project control softwareUnderstanding of construction and maintenance practices for transmission linesPersonal Attributes The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationshipsAdaptability and openness to new ways of workingA commitment to continuous learning and professional developmentCommercial acumen and the ability to make informed decisionsInnovative thinking and problem-solving skillsSpecial Requirements This role may involve: Occasional travel, including interstate and overseasWork in high-voltage transmission line and substation environmentsDriving off-road (4WD) and possession of a valid "C" Class Driver's LicenseWhat's on Offer Competitive salary commensurate with experienceOpportunities for professional growth and career advancementChallenging projects at the forefront of the energy transmission sectorA supportive and innovative work environmentIf you're ready to take the next step in your career and lead a team of talented professionals in the dynamic field of electrical transmission, we want to hear from you.
