Your New Role Looks Like This: Join Our Team as Head of Finance - Drive Strategy, Leadership, and Impact.
As the Head of Finance (Enabling Functions) at Australian Unity, you'll be at the heart of Finance and Strategy, navigating a challenging financial services landscape with a focus on strategic vision and commercial excellence.
In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders across our Enabling Functions and the Finance & Strategy team, delivering strategic financial insights and commercial leadership.
Your expertise will empower the organization to make data-driven decisions and foster high-performing business outcomes.
You'll lead with purpose, collaborating across portfolios to drive execution and build a strong community of practice.
Key Responsibilities Include: Use financial analysis to work with the Enabling Function Group Executives to evaluate strategic choices and create new options for both the business and the Group.
Ensure a high degree of financial visibility, control and discipline across the functions, including regular forward-looking planning and scenario modelling.
Develop and manage a portfolio view to assist the business to make effective portfolio decisions and to feed into scenario modelling.
Work collaboratively with the Group Finance and Strategy team to ensure effective input into the overall group financial and performance management.
Lead the strategic planning process across the enabling functions and actively collaborate with the Group Strategy team to consider and test how this is incorporated into the wider group strategy.
With the F&S Performance Insights team, and Group Treasury, monitor and forecast functions' financial performance and assess a range of funding and capital alternatives.
Partner with the Enabling Functions Group Executives and collaborate with Performance Insights to develop, analyse and manage annual budgets and forecasts for P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and capital so that it delivers on agreed targets in the short and longer term.
Successfully deliver month end, half year, year end, statutory reporting, strategic planning and annual operating plan financial and performance indicator reporting requirements per timetable.
Understand the role and inter-relationships of enabling functions at the Group and effectively utilise skills in managing across the organisation.
About You: CA/CPA Qualified.
Previous experience in a leadership role, leading strategic and operational finance teams.
Proficient understanding of indices, fundamentals, and analytical data.
Proven P&L accountability.
Strong business case and commercial analysis skills.
Effective internal and external stakeholder relationship building skills and communication skills.
Demonstrated experience working on large scale transformational projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in addition to proficient time management.
