This role shall provide principal security technology-based consulting services incorporating the development and design of security strategy and implementation of technological solutions required to deliver key business functions in a secure and efficient manner.Essential capabilities
Use considerable technical expertise and judgement to define and implement technical solutions that support business needsProvide strategic input to design and quality assurance of technology solutionsConfer with systems users to develop areas of change in requirements, which permit greater efficiency, systems integration or cost reductionUndertake research into new hardware or operating system technology and maintain an authoritative understanding of technology changes and developmentsDevelop specialised proposals and detailed technical evaluations of products and techniques to meet business needsProvide technical input to design of major technology solutions and oversee their executionInvestigate longer-term strategic and high complexity software or hardware problems and coordinate resolution with software vendors, hardware manufacturers as requiredTechnical design, coordinating the work on systems and integrating new applications with existing systems and filesProvide effective and efficient infrastructure support to customersUndertake application development diagnostic work, where required, to troubleshoot issuesContribute to the creation of technical strategiesSupport specific project goals by providing expertise and technical assurance for key system components to support costing efforts and to ensure the integrity of design.Execute tasks associated with the discipline; so as to maintain the integrity and quality of the operating environmentContinue advancing the sub-group expertise (i.e.
Programming, Software Product Knowledge, Database Management, Network Management or Systems Security) within the Technical Specialist service areaEnsure processes are in place for the analysis and provision of training and or capability enhancement initiativesProvide input to current and future capability needs, resulting in resource plansDevelop substantive expertise in alternative and complementary hardware and software offerings to enhance understanding of potential systemsContinually evaluate working practices and procedures to help the implementation of cost effective methodologies for high quality technology developmentsKey Accountabilities
Provide and exercise security best practice in the undertaking of their day to day responsibilitiesIdentify and implement process improvement opportunities within the teamActively identify, report and implement risk remediation tasks as appropriate to their roleDesign, develop and implement in collaboration with Mainframe Identity Service Security ArchitectsExperience
10+ years' experience in a Security Analyst role (Mainframe)Advanced professional experience in a relevant fieldRelevant Financial Services Industry experience advantageousTertiary qualification in a Technology discipline or related fieldSpecific skills
JCL (Job Control Language) coding experienceSAS (Statistical Analysis System) programming expertiseISPF (Interactive System Productivity Facility) - ISPF Dialogue Management Services ExpertiseSDSF (Spool Display Search Facility)RACF Security Expertise including security control design reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with organisational security requirementsAudit, Risk, Controls Background / exposureBenefits
