The Inland Rail Program is a 1600km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track.
The program includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges.

About the opportunity
As the Landholder Relations Principal you will play a critical role in managing and enhancing relationships with impacted landowners across our property program.
You will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure effective engagement with landholders, securing land access and fostering goodwill while safeguarding Inland Rail's reputation and social licence to operate.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Provide senior level professional support to the Landholder Relations Manager in the delivery of targeted landholder relations outcomes for the Property program.
Support at a senior level, a strategic engagement program balancing schedule priorities with processes that positively enhance landholder relations and Inland Rail's social licence to operate.
Assist in the development and implementation of effective communication, relationship building and field compliance mechanisms to achieve objectives detailed in the program property strategy and supporting management strategies.
Facilitate and operationally support strong outcomes focused, partnering relationships with internal collaborators and business units that facilitate outcomes for the Property program.
Assist in the development of procedures to ensure that unified information and data management practices are adopted, and internal approvals process and governance requirements are professionally managed.
Assist in the preparation and delivery of required information packages detailing property compliance obligations for Inland Rail construction partners.

To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
Tertiary qualified (degree qualification in business, property, project management or other relevant discipline).
High level stakeholder engagement capability and ability to form trusting, balanced business relationships.
Knowledge of and experience in land access and/or negotiations for land acquisition and/or compulsory acquisition of land.
High level interpersonal skills and empathy for stakeholder issues.
Highly developed problem resolution skills with experience in relationship management.
Risk management experience with an ability to assist in evaluating identified risks/opportunities and development of agreed strategies and management plans to mitigate risk.
High level negotiation and management skills.
Desirable Selection Criteria
Understanding and knowledge of valuation methodologies related to property acquisition.
Experience in the development and delivery of major infrastructure projects through a program of works model or functional matrix organisational structure.
