The Legal & Secretariat Business Unit within the Corporate Services division provides key legal, governance, secretariat & strategic advice & support to TMCA.
The Corporate Solicitor – Privacy, is primarily responsible for the provision of commercially focused legal services (with a focus on Privacy) in order to enable TMCA to execute its strategy and achieve its objectives whilst maintaining compliance with the law and company policy.
This role is based in Port Melbourne with flexible work arrangements on offer.
How you'll make an impact Provide legal services for all areas of Toyota's business, including but not limited to: Privacy projects, issues, incidents, and inquiries.
Assisting project owners with Privacy Impact Assessments.
Supporting project owners in evaluating potential data breaches and facilitating Office of Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) notifications and investigations as needed.
Advertising and marketing, including reviewing advertising materials, drafting and negotiating various contractual agreements, and advising on competition and consumer law matters.
Implement and review established legal services plans, processes, and procedures in alignment with set policies to ensure Toyota remains compliant with legal requirements.
Provide guidance and support in developing privacy policies and standards to ensure the delivery of timely, commercially focused advice.
Coordinate and facilitate forums to ensure clear communication of legal plans, progress, and issues to all stakeholders.
Update and maintain reporting systems to deliver accurate and timely information that supports planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities for the business.
Your attributes Degree in law and admission to practice in Victoria 2-5+ years of cumulative experience post-admission Solid understanding of privacy laws and their application Experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal role Strong grasp of the business and its commercial drivers Make your impossible, possible & apply today
