About Valkyrie State School
Valkyrie State School is a small school which operates as the hub of the local community.
The school utilises the P-6 Curriculum Planning Model in conjunction with the Brigalow Cluster Schools.
Within the K-2 years, age-appropriate pedagogies are also implemented, which links the early years program, fostering the love of learning through play.
As Valkyrie State School has a Kindergarten, the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines are followed.
The school has a general area/classroom, a computer lab, a new library, and undercover outdoor play areas.
Valkyrie State School P&C Association encourages parents/guardians to join in a variety of fundraising activities throughout the school year, including a Mini Olympics Fund Day and Christmas Concert.
About the Role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry, and business.
Be futures-oriented and strategic.
Understand the legislation and policies that impact schooling.
Lead the school community to develop, articulate, and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Uphold the principalship as a values-based, ethical, and moral activity.
