Research Associate at Curtin University: Curtin University, located in Perth, Western Australia, is seeking a qualified and motivated individual for the position of Research Associate.
This full-time role involves a 3-year fixed-term contract with a focus on electrochemistry and sensors within the School of Molecular and Life Sciences.
The successful candidate will contribute to an Australian Research Council Discovery Project, aiming to develop low-cost electrochemical sensors based on poly-ionic liquids.
Designation: Research Associate Research Area: Electrochemistry Sensors Location: Curtin University, Bentley Campus, Perth, Western Australia Minimum Requirements: Ph D in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., chemistry, chemical engineering) Knowledge of electrochemical fundamentals and methods, including cyclic voltammetry Demonstrated track record in developing new electrochemical methodologies Commitment to high-quality research and publications in analytical electrochemistry Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience in undergraduate student supervision Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team Job Description: The Research Associate will be involved in: Modifying electrodes and employing ionic liquids and poly(ionic liquid)s as solvents Assembling electrochemical cells and instrumentation Performing electrochemical characterisation using techniques such as cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry, square wave voltammetry Data analysis and methodological development Writing scientific journal articles Disseminating results at group meetings, conferences, and workshops Assisting with the supervision of Ph D and Honours students Collaborating with other experimental teams How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, CV, and a separate document directly addressing the selection criteria.
