Non-Executive Director, SDN Children's Services The Opportunity
The Board of SDN is seeking two new Non-Executive Directors to help the organisation maintain sustainability and achieve its strategic goals. With the other members of the Board, the new Non-Executive Directors will set the strategic direction for the organisation, provide cultural leadership, oversee compliance and the management of risk, and monitor performance in relation to agreed priorities and activities. The Non-Executive Directors of SDN will bring energy, ideas and diligence at a significant time for the organisation's growth and development. The responsibilities of the new Non-Executive Directors will include:
Living SDN's values and ensuring the activities of the organisation reflect and deliver on its missionPromoting a positive culture at the Board table, which encourages participation, facilitation of discussion and debateRelationship building across the Board, management, and broader SDN teamPromoting an environment that ensures contributions of all directors are welcomed and heardProvide advice and counsel to the CEOAbout You
SDN is seeking candidates with Board experience but will also welcome candidates with significant senior management experience. Candidates will need to address how they will commit to and support the organisation's positive, open and engaged Board culture. In addition, candidates will be able to demonstrate:
A strong commitment to supporting and including children and young people from all walks of life and abilities, and their familiesAn understanding of the organisation's strategic objectives and how the Board can support the achievement of these objectivesThe successful candidates will have at least one of the following areas of skill/qualification and experience, at a senior and strategic level:
Expertise in social policy, early childhood education governance, and a deep understanding of contexts affecting children's wellbeing; orSenior executive experience in financial management and oversight. Experience in property trusts or within organisations managing large property portfolios will be highly regarded.The Organisation
