Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Material Quotation Manager located in Flex Althofen, Austria.

Reporting to the MQM Group Leader, the Material Quotation Manager’s role involves 100% ownership for overall end-to-end System Integration quote & Mechanical costed BOM. During your activity you will lead & guide the mechanical quote team to plan and coordinate all customer quotes in order to ensure the team provides an accurate, timely and cost competitive quote to our internal customers.

What a typical day looks like:

- You will establish and maintain strong internal and external relationships, to develop and grow business with customers and to support the creation, development and implementation of quotation strategies and policies in order to deliver the maximum advantage to the business and its customers;
- You will review the overall customer quote package and their mechanical requirements; Develop most cost competitive mechanical material quote strategy;
- You will coordinate efforts between QPM (Quote Program Manager), SDM (Supplier Development Manager), SSCM (Strategic Supply Chain Manager) & Suppliers to meet project timelines, materials cost and tooling NRE budget;
- You will select the most suitable mechanical process/ methodology and company supplier that deliver lowest Total Cost of Ownership for the quote project;
- You will recommend _Make vs Buy_ proposal in consideration site capabilities and best materials TCO;
- You will track quote progress and provide timely updates to QS (Quote Specialist) & QPM (Quote Program Manager) on the quote status and issues;
- You will proactively get involved in providing suggestion to make the materials solution more cost compelling and that includes Value Engineering Proposals;
- You will attend quote Kick-Off-Call, quote grading discussions on all assigned quote projects and provide appropriate resource and materials quote strategy to all assigned projects; Involve GCM, SDM whenever there is an Executive Quote;
- You will supervise the preparation of supplier RFQ packages includes mechanical cost breakdown details to ensure consistent quote assumptions by all suppliers;
- Always use _Should Cost_ model to check against supplier pricing to ensure supplier pricing are competitive;
- Review and scrub overall Mechanical costed BOM and ensure pricing is accurate and competitive before submitting to our internal customers;
- You will work closely with SDM (Supplier Development Manager) & GCM (Global Commodity Manager) to identify gap presence within the current supply base and co-work to develop new supplier required to close these gaps;
- Maintain a list of company’s approved suppliers for various commodities within Quote Win and have regular review with GCM & SDM;
- Maintain a list of company’s approved suppliers and accurate quote records in Quote Win as to provide consistent quote related information feedback to company’s suppliers in a timely manner;
- Continuously identify areas of improvement on the quote process & tools by solicitate feedback from our customers through internal survey channel;
- Constantly upgrade the working knowledge of materials, technology, fabrication processes and supplier capabilities to support a cost competitive & compelling supply chain strategy on every quote proposal;
- Ensure all confidential information is handled appropriately and supplier are on NDA before sending any RFQ to suppliers;
- Support overall Quote Organization KPIs: Win rates by revenue, Quote lead time, On time delivery;
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

- Bachelor’s degree in business management, mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline; MBA is a plus;
- Exceptional program management skills having managed multiple, complex programs simultaneously with respect to order schedule adherence, cost and inventory;
- A solid experience in one or more disciplines of supply chain management and operations related to mechanical assemblies or commodities. Such disciplines to include commodity management, sourcing, initial purchasing, materials management, manufacturing, assembly & test, logistics or other related area;
- Demonstrated understanding of effective supply chain management in a manufacturing environment (preferably in mechanical manufacturing);
